I love this 100% Virgin Wool. I carry a combination of wool batts from Harrisville Designs, a family owned historical woolen mill based out of New Hampshire and DHG - Dying House Gallery from the city of Prato in Tuscany, Italy.

The Merino cross blend of carded wool is perfect for needle felting and spinning and seriously my favorite to work with. These soft and fluffy batts are absolutely beautiful and many of the color options have subtle color variations and little nubs throughout for added texture (see photos).

For reference, the batts in the photos are 1 ounce each. Also available in 1/2 ounce sizes in the drop down color menu.
Wool batts are not guaranteed to be in one continuous piece.

What is the difference between Carded Batts & Wool Tops? Batting and tops have both been pulled through carding machines which comb and align the fibers. With batting, the wool comes off the machine in thin sheets which are layered to form thicker fluffy sheets. The layering results in a textured wool where the fibers are no longer aligned, making it perfect for needle felting as it felts up very quickly. Tops, on the other hand, is processed one step further and pulled off the machine in ropes where the fibers are mostly aligned. Though the fibers are more aligned, this form of wool still retains the wool’s natural crimp. I love to use the tops for detailed designs, symbols and hair styles on my Medicine Dolls.
